J. Clifton Slater has another winner here. I'm really enjoying his almost poetic prose and the detail he goes into setting the scenes. The author has obviously done his homework. That's what makes his historical fiction novels so appealing. He puts you right in the period allowing the reader to get lost in the past. The adventures of Alerio continue. I can't wait for the next one.
So happy to see book 7 in a series that I have thoroughly enjoyed. This book has proven to be an excellent addition to that series.
In this story the Corporal is out of his element on a mission not really suited for what he is trained. Lucky for him he is quick witted and adaptable. It is more epic quest than historical battle but a very nice change of pace.
Another winner from Slater, it keeps getting better with each new book. I'm hoping that the next book will be out soon the author has me hooked with his Clay Warrior Stories!Wished his books were on Audible also
Great book and series. Definately one of my favorites. I look forward to the next book.
