In the book Mr. Harris presents a step by step guide to success in the business and discusses both the advantages of having your own business, working for yourself, and the possible pitfalls.The book discusses the great inhibitor of owning any business, and that is the terrible fear of failure that most small business owners battled with when they were starting out.I liked that the book described the six types of people you will need to deal with. That was well thought out and would be a real help to the new entrepreneur.The book is very informative and was not the least disappointing. The subjects presented, and the language used were both easy to understand. The business tips from Mr. Harris would be invaluable to someone beginning on their own.This author wrote a wonderfully insightful book and seems to be truly interested in your success in the freight brokerage game. At the end of the book he even supplies his personal email address in case you have any questions that were not answered.I am happy with my purchase and would buy the book again.

Beneath the well-edited structure is little to no useful information. And some advice that is just bad. I am in the industry and read these books to improve my craft. There are things in this book that make no sense at all from the perspective of someone actually doing the work. For example, in a highly intense industry where expertise and connections rule the day, suggesting that logo creation and having an Instagram account are key first steps is ludicrous. And the books suggested mechanics of setting up in a complex commodity business is as shallow and as unhelpful as suggesting that someone make a living from day trading equities by simply "buying low and selling high." Its a little more complicated than that Ronald.My expectation from an industry veteran with "22 people working" for him is a book of substantial tips. "Aha" moments that you can not find anywhere else. That is value. This book is not value.Cannot recommend.

Pretty insightful if you're just looking to get a feel for what a broker does and a vague description of what it takes to get started. Not much detail though. Pretty repetitive. Should've done some proofreading before publishing for sure. Three stars for the effort of the author.
