So far this Sci Fi series has held my interest through all 61 books! It is a unique story from a unique individual's perception, that I find rather intriguing. There are several natural history details that need to be ignored to make the story work for me, but overall the excellent thought process that went into the development of the characters and the technology makes this series a tremendously uplifting read. I have complained previously about the numerous misspellings in his earlier books, but he seems to have improved that in his last few books - very few misspellings or incorrect word usage now - I am not a school marm but want to enjoy reading without those distractions - the editing has improved for which I am grateful! I highly recommend you do not buy this book without going back to the first book in the series - I guarantee you will be hooked into the light vs dark storyline and will buy ALL the books in the series!

There are many twists to the plot, but basically, the Caretaker system created by the Founders is predicated on Essence usage and apparently the Vargemma alone aren't supplying enough to the network. Hence the Caretakers have to get the Essence from other, unwilling, sources. And Star Force won't stand for that, meaning it all has to come down.Now the real test begins while, behind the scenes, the Zak'de'ron quietly plot to overthrow the humans. I can't wait to see how this will play out in subsequent books.
Huge fan of the series. Only reason I did not give 5 stars is that I burn through each edition in about 2 to 3 hours and then I have to wait another month for the next book. If only he could write as fast as I read. :-)Nice progression in the war in this book and an introduction to another story line at the end. I simply cannot get enough of this series. Kind of reminds me of the Perry Rhodan series in scope.There are some small editing / grammar / flow issues. Those are small potatoes in comparison to the universe that we have been introduced to, at least in my opinion. So, the wait begins for book 62. :-)
The author has an exceptional grasp of, and an understanding of technology, strategy and moral leadership. The fight between the light and dark side has no end, but doing the right thing, at all times, irrespective the outcome or consequences to yourself is a beacon of light in this day and age. This series will make a fantastic sci-fi show and I look forward to it becoming a reality.

Fantastic epic story arch, character development, original concepts, military minded writing, and page-turning story telling.I binged book 1-61 in the past two weeks, and am eagerly awaiting the next release to learn about the continuation of 128,000 year-old humans as they stumble into the middle of a conflict thats been going for billions of years!This world is absolutely ripe for massive Game play, RTS, FPS, Empire Building, Role Playing, its got tons of potential...even a natural break-out mini-game for grinding out archon challenges! Game companies sit up and pay attention!
I look forward to the next book every month. The author has managed to escalate from a single planet scope all the way up to a galactic scale, and shows no signs of slowing down. Can't wait for the next one.
Good read, but nova science faulty. Jyr should read a few more astro physics books. He also seems to forget that one person's morals is another person's sins. Correct about might makes right.
