Great book for the newbies, but also a nice resource for everybody that wants to know a structured, repeatable process to get going on network pen testing and the Basics of Hacking and Penetration Testing and it is a great book to get beginners up to speed on a basic penetration testing framework and other basic tools and it gives you valuable information and points you in the right direction to learn more and this book is a great resource and it walks you through setting up a pen testing lab and goes through various techniques in an easy to follow format and have gone from reading blogs and forums with a vague idea of how to proceed with this to having a clear direction and able to formulate measurable goals for myself and if you are new to this field and looking to get a solid foundation on hacking and penetration testing then I would highly recommend this book and if you already have a solid foundation of hacking because you were self taught or are in the industry then most of this book will be irrelevant and elementary, but could be a good review and he does a great job at taking a beginning to end approach pointing out areas that some often overlook that could help you be more successful.
This book is basically an outline of the tools a cyber security guy should be familiar with and the many ways the bad guys have found to penetrate computer systems. It is definitely not knowledge in depth, rather it is a starting point for further study. Note to the editors: please get a proofreader to go over this book. There are way too many grammatical errors for your readers to stumble over, not to mention that PERL is not spelled PEARL.

This gives you a good idea of what's actually going on when someone gets into your computer. He also shares the basics of what you should do to protect yourself.
This book gave me quite the idea of what hackers of and how they get into our personal information. I never knew that there were as many hackers in the world today and this book helped explain all of the different types and what they do online.
I learned about ethical hacking to broaden my perspective. It is only way to master the skills I need to be an ethical hacker. This book was informative enough for me, since I am a beginner and only starting learn this topic.
