I am a member of the Mutual UFO Network Experiencer Research Team and I read a lot of books on this topic. I highly recommend this book. Ingo Swan is one of the most famous remote viewers who had worked on secret alien-related remote viewing projects in the 1970s. What I liked about this book was that it was an easy read in a conversational style, and it tells about Swan's experiences in the remote viewing process. He says that the government is not going to disclose secrets about aliens, not just because they have been lying to us for 70+ years, but because that secret is closely related to alien telepathy -- and how close humans are to achieving telepathy, which terrifies our governments. Swan does not discuss much about the nuts-and-bolts of telepathy itself -- which is why I did not give it 5 stars -- but focuses on the social upheaval it would cause if many humans were capable of telepathy. Swan also talks a great deal about the moon and how it is really an artificial satellite -- and he has documentation and references to that effect. This is a fascinating book you will enjoy and that will also broaden your mind about reality and our role in it.
I have read a lot of UFO related books over the years by people like Howe, Dolan, Marrs etc.... I was eager to get this book, as the author is well regarded in the field and many people, like Howe, mention him favorably.But I have to admit I am a little puzzled by all the five star reviews. First of all, the writing style of the book is very very informal and general. It reads like a diary of basic events, a sort of list of what happens. The detail is not rich.Some of the happenings just flat out do not make sense other than as atmospheric details. Mr. Axelrod calls out of the blue at 3:00 AM. The Twins magically show up in a grocery store tailing a woman who Swann happens to notice in the produce section of the store because she is wearing a skimpy top. These elements of intrigue have become a cliche in UFO writing, and while I do not doubt the existence of clandestine programs I do not see why the people who work them should be making calls at 3 AM.Then there is the out-of-nowhere phone call and sudden trip in the middle of the night to Alaska to view a UFO, which includes a car trip with a black bag over Swann's head (which strangely they do not bother with on the way back??) and a viewing that Axelrod says he should not have shown anyone. All this secret agent stuff seems a bit unnecessary and a bit cliched. Are we to believe Axelrod went rogue? How did Axelrod know the UFO was about to show up? Maybe. But sounds too much like the X-files to me, regardless of whether this happened before the X-files was televised.I did enjoy the discussion Swann has with Axelrod about how people perceive things through preconceptions and people see different things even if they are all looking at the same thing, though it then went off into a vague issue of who controls the preconceptions, a discussion with little specific content.Did it happen? Is the whole book a scam?Was the whole thing, as conspiracy people often wonder, a counter-intelligence operation designed by the CIA to make us think Swann has some insight when in fact the information is incorrect?Is the information correct but presented in such a way that we write off the experience and thus are turned away from the real information??????Who knows! Fun read but I think Dolan's writing often has more power to it because he relies on documents and the sightings of others. This is a sort of "here is what happened to me" type thing that sort of leaves you in the air. Nothing is proven or necessarily made to seem likely. It is just sort of odd and you can take it or leave it, depending on your tolerance for illogical/strange happenings and "dark government" intrigue.This book is now available at a reasonable price, so worth a look.And PLEASE, fan boys of Swann's need not respond to this as they have to some other reviews that were not goo-goo about the book.FAN BOYS: If you disagree with me, that is fine. This is just one person's reaction to the book as one more entry into the field of UFO literature and a book some people may be thinking of buying. There is a big difference between reading Dolan and reading Swann, and potential readers may benefit from some comments that might help them decide how they want to spend their money and time.If you are into UFO books, this makes for an interesting read.
Ingo Swann is much mentioned by other authors (especially Joseph McMoneagle) when discussing the government's remote viewing projects (Stargate etc.). Therefore he starts with a certain amount of credibility as someone who actually impressed many others with real ability. The first part of this book is a 1st person account of some interactions he had with government functionaries who had some responsibilities in regards aliens on earth as well as the moon. It is great, gripping reading the tradition of sci fi masters, albeit without the marks of fiction (no huge conflict here, only a mystery...). Ingo just talks about what happened to him and how he felt about it. You can read it as you like (as fiction, you'll like it well enough), or as non-fiction (more evidence on that great pile Ingo talks about in the second half). As noted by another reviewer, the second half of the book is a lot less than the first half... not 1st person (except in the sense that it is Ingo surmising, speculating, theorizing, etc.). The only value really is that it is Ingo Swann, not some BillyBob presenting a book-report, that is doing the speculating. Still it's only worth 3 stars. So I gave it 4 stars as a weighted average.Don't skip the 1st half. It's really excellent. If you just want to skip the 2nd half, it has a bit of a book-report wherein Ingo confirms his RV investigations of the moon in the 1st half, and goes on to propose among other things that 1) the US government knows that the moon (and earth) have lots of higher powered aliens running around doing alien things that are (???) a potential threat to people (???) and therefore some kind of close monitoring is required, 2) Of course this can't be talked about and hence all misinformation tactics are fair game, 3) the USG (and space-side aliens) would like to suppress broad ranging telepathy research, because it would compromise 2), and 4) as a result of no appropriate research, we don't know much about telepathy, except that it does not seem to work single mindedly, i.e. I will have a very hard time reading your thoughts, all other things being equal. Ingo proposes that other modalities are much more likely to be manifest than 1 to 1 'telepathy', although in a fairly weak form it is well enough documented by others (for an interesting video see "Michael Persinger No More Secrets" on youtube ).If this subject interests you, you might also find the Researchers of Truth concepts of 'elementals' and other sources (even Eckhart Tolle) that talk about 'thought-forms' are helpful in understanding the situation that Ingo comments on in the 2nd half of the book. Ingo is not aware of this other work (or doesn't mention it), and uses his own language to frame these things, perhaps providing a bit of supporting evidence (the view of one person with demonstrated RV skill) but not much more.
